What are merchant guilds?

Deeper Trouble employs a very special system in order to make player-owned merchant guilds available.
Merchant guilds are shops which sell your normal, everyday equipment the normal, everyday, vigilant player needs, like poison, armour, weapons, alcohol, scrolls and much more.

What's so special about these guilds in Deeper Trouble Mud?

The special thing is, that the players themselves own and operate these 'shops'. A pub owner will buy the brew from a brewery and then proceed to mix it into a drink. The owner can create many different recipes, each different from the other. The players themselves price the items which they sell, and the system itself, just like in the real world, will make sure that guilds which overprice their wares go bankrupt.

What types of Merchant guilds currently exist?

Alchemy, Pub, Brewery, Printshop, Blacksmiths, Corpse Processors, Hospitals, and others in the making.

What do I get from owning a Merchant guild?

MONEY MONEY MONEY. And good Karma.

How many Merchant guilds can you be part of?

Easy answer, 1. As an owner/manager/worker.

How do I buy myself a Merchant guild?

To own a guild, you must be at least level 15, and will need about 500k gold coins.
